The 1923 Welsh Women’s Peace Petition, coordinated by the Welsh League of Nations Union, was signed by 390,296 women in a call for America to join and lead the League of Nations, to prevent the outbreak of another war in the aftermath of World War One.  In 2025, Corwen Museum launched a special exhibition to commemorate this initiative and the story behind it, as well as the stories of some of the local women who signed the petition.
Two of the museum volunteers, Mike Plaice and Dilwyn Jones created a replica of the original chest that was sent to America with the boxes of signatures and it now forms part of the Welsh Women’s Peace Petition display.
