New Exhibitions for 2026

Interested in old photographs?  – In 1978 a Jeff Wheeldon, who was a regular visitor to Corwen from the Midlands,  stumbled upon some soggy boxes by some bins. Inside were old large format glass negatives. A keen photographer, he took them home and had prints made of some of the plates which were not too badly damaged. The photographs were of  local scenes taken at the turn of the last century, mainly of the village of Llandrillo, 5 miles from Corwen on the way to Bala.  Last year, John, Jeff’s brother who lives in Canada, visited the museum and donated copies of the photographs, printed and digital.  Soon you will be able to view them via a continuous loop on a screen on the second floor of the museum.

Votes for Women and Campaigning for Peace – Following on from last year’s exhibition on the Welsh Women’s Peace Petition, we have developed our theme to produce a display board telling the history of a family of suffragettes as well as local women who marched for peace in the latter part of the twentieth century.
