We had planned events throughout the year but these have had to be cancelled or postponed until after the Government advises that group meetings and trips can be held and we feel that it would be safe for our participants.

February
Saturday February 10th
Trip to Bodelwyddan Castle to see their World War One Trenches Exhibition. There will also be time to view the interior of the Castle and the grounds. We will also visit the graves of the WW1 Canadian soldiers who are buried in Bodelwyddan Churchyard.
We will leave from outside Corwen Museum at 9.00 am either by bus or in cars dependant upon numbers, returning to Corwen by approximately 5.00 pm. There will be no charge but donations are welcome and you will need to purchase refreshments. Numbers are limited so please get in touch on the Contacts page as soon as possible if you are interested in coming.
Saturday and Sunday February 24th and 25th 11.00 am to 5.00 pm
Corwen Museum re-opens with a spectacular Open Weekend full of displays and activities based on the First World War. Come and see the army camp and taste the food they ate. Find out about the weapons they used and the uniform they wore.
We will also have our Exhibition on how Corwen and its villages helped the war effort and our Books of Remembrance for the 144 men and 1 woman named on the War Memorials in Edeyrnion.
The Museum is also celebrating the Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the beautiful work of renowned stained glass designer, Alf Fisher, displayed in our lovely chapel windows. They will be amazing.

Thursday 12th April at 7.00 pm in Corwen Museum. There will be a talk on World War 1 by Simon Jarman, a WW1 expert. Everyone is welcome. There is no charge but donations to the Museum would be much appreciated.
May
Thursday 10th May. Museum volunteers are going to the Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum at Caernarfon Castle for a guided tour. They are hoping to learn more about the many men of Edeyrnion who joined up to fight with the RWF in the First World War.

Sunday and Monday 26th and 27th August 10.00 am to 5.00 pm

Thursday May 19th at 7.00 pm in Corwen Museum. Part 2 of the talk by Lindsay Watkins entitled ‘The History of the Welsh Settlers of Patagonia – from 1875 to the present day.’ Everyone is welcome to attend.

Thursday July 21st.
Visit to Corris Slate Quarry, including a 2 hour guided tour inside the quarry. Cost is £21 per person, including return transport to Corris, and leaving Corwen at approx. 8.30 am (to be confirmed). The Tour Guide has been asked to talk about similarities between the Quarry at Corris and the slate quarries of the Corwen area. Spaces are limited so please book early, with your payment, to avoid disappointment. (Send an email in the first instance from the Contacts page). There is also the option of a guided tour of Corris village and the Quarry Railway Museum for a donation of £2. Optional lunch (not included in the price) will be available in the Corris Quarry Café, or bring a picnic.

Thursday August 18th.
Visit to Ruthin Gaol, leaving Corwen at 5.30 pm. There will be a guided tour lasting one and a quarter hours and costing £4 per person. The Guide has been asked to talk about inmates from the Edeyrnion area. Following the tour there will be an optional meal at a Ruthin restaurant. Thursday November 17th at 7.00 pm in Corwen Museum. Our AGM followed by a talk from Fiona Gale, County Archaeologist, entitled ‘Local Archaeological Finds, their Significance and their Present Location.’ This is with the aim of possibly bringing these artefacts back to the Corwen Museum. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Talk by David Shiel of Denbighshire Countryside Services on “The Dee Valley – Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”, with a video of the Dee Valley taken from the train and being shown to the public for the first time.
