Earlier this year Corwen Museum arranged a Schools Painting Competition for local schools in Edeyrnion, with the help and support of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, through their Picturesque Landscapes Project.  Ysgol Caer Drewyn and Ysgol Carrog children chose to take part and produced some lovely artwork showing their favourite local landscapes, a display that complements the Exhibition the Museum has put on this year – Artists and Authors with a Connection to Edeyrnion.  Our judges, Julie and Nicholas Macnamara, Jude Wood and Ben Davis had a difficult job deciding on the winners as the standard was so good, but a unanimous decision was reached.  There was to be a Prize-Giving Ceremony this Saturday, 21st March, but, because of the Coronavirus, this has had to be cancelled, so the prizes have been delivered to Jayne Davies, Headmistress.

Ysgol Caer Drewyn winners are 1st. Millie Mae, 2nd Loise B. and 3rd Molly.

Ysgol Carrog winners are 1st Thomas Scott, 2nd Riley Dyke and 3rd Lois Garratt-Smith.

The artwork will be on display in Corwen Museum when it is able to re-open, but the photograph shows a sneak preview.  Thanks to all the children who took part, to the judges and to the Picturesque Landscapes Project.
